Hey Everybody. Just thought we’d let you know that we will be at the upcoming Jet City Comic Show in Seattle on September 25, 2010. This is sure to be an awesome NEW convention that focuses on Northwest comic creators, shops, etc. We will be unveiling lots of new, exciting stuff regarding our series. So, make sure to stop by table #006 in the “Exhibitor” area. That’s right, we will not be in Artist Alley, but will instead be amongst the vendors and stuff. Hope to see you there!!!

COMIC GEEK SPEAK LOVES 2%!!!

Nate met the guys from Comic Geek Speak at the Emerald City ComiCon and they were really awesome. They posed with a “Get Well” card for our buddy Ed who was recovering from heart surgery and couldn’t come to ECCC.

Anyway, Nate gave them the first 3 issues and that was that.

Cut to today where we awakened to a new episode of Comic Geek Speak (Ep. #817) . I’m listening to it at work and at at the 27 minute mark, Adam “Murd” Murdough starts reviewing our book! Not only that, he gave it a rave review. You can check it out for yourself here or download it from iTunes.

Anyway, Murd really nailed it in his review, too. Totally got what we are going for with our story. He called it a “post-apocalyptic buddy-comedy”. That’s awesome. Thanks CGS!

2010 Emerald City ComiCon Wrapup

Well, this weekend was the 10th Annual Emerald City ComiCon. Our local “Con” has grown to be one of the largest in the country and draws some HUGE talent from around the world. Creators such as STAN FUCKING LEE, Ed Brubaker, Brian Michael Bendis, Matt Fraction and Ben Templesmith as well as media stars such as LEONARD FUCKING NIMOY and Lou Ferrigno.There are also hundreds of weirdos dressed up as super heroes, Star Wars characters and who-knows-what.

Anyway, we had a table in Artist Alley again where we were selling our books. It was awesome to connect with the fans. We sold a ton of books, did some interviews for great podcasts such as The Backroom Comics Podcast and Seattle Geekly and generally had a great time enjoying all things comic book.

Now, we are soooooo exhausted. So, we’re just gonna post all the pictures below in no particular order.

Issue #3 Is Off To the Printers!!!

So, we have FINALLY submitted our files to the printer and await proof copies of Issue #3. Check out the awesome cover art by Ryan! He really outdid himself once again. The book should be available for order online in the next week to ten days on Indy Planet and in local Seattle comic shops like 3 weeks after that.

We are now focusing our attention on preparing for the 2010 Emerald City ComiCon. We will have a great booth this year!

Also, look for us to appear on the Backroom Podcast sometime in the very near future. We’ll let you know when the time comes.

ANNOUNCING “THE UNLOVABLES”!

Team Singletary-Murphy-Hobson have a new creation with their new ongoing full-page comic strip in the pages of Scoot!Magazine. The first episode will appear in the February 2010 issue available on their website as well as booksellers everywhere!

The comic follows the exploits of the teenage Jake Standish and his friend Philip as they discover the world of scooters and mod culture in the 1980’s. It’s kinda of a cool look into what makes ol’ Jake tick!

It’s Official! Singletary-Murphy-Hobson to create a series for Scoot! Magazine

So, we have now officially signed on to create an ongoing one-page comic strip for the bi-monthly scooter-culture magazine “Scoot!”

This is exciting news for us as Scoot! has a readership of over 20,000 people worldwide.

Our strip will be Jake’s coming-of-age story set in the 1980’s. It will be in black and white and every year (6 issues) will be a complete story arc. We expect to feature the first strip to debut in the February 2010 issue.

Issue #3 Update

So, we are hard at work on issue #3. Ryan has delivered 19 finished pages (of 28) so far. Otis & Nate are now laboriously lettering the pages as they come in. But, luck ass Ryan is on vacation in BALI until the beginning of October.

Anyway, we should be finished by mid-October. So, it will be available online at Indy Planet at that time and in Seattle-area comic shops by mid-November.

Speaking of Seattle-area comic shops. We are selling out quickly which is AWESOME! They are completely sold out of issues #1 & 2 over at Arcane Comics (in Ballard), but there are still some copies at their West Seattle store as well as at both Zanadu stores and Golden Age Collectables. So grab them up while you still can!

And, speaking of online sales. We use the on-demand printing services of Ka-Blam (and their retail arm Indy Planet) to publish (and sell) our book. The problem for us is that we have to order our copies to distribute to Seattle shops from Ka-Blam and it takes us a month to get our books. But if readers order our book online from Indy Planet they will get them in a few days. This is because they prioritize printing/shipping for readers’ books. So, unfortunately when a local shop runs out of copies, it takes us a month to get them more copies.

What we’re getting at is that you should really buy the book online if you want to read it as soon as possible.

Hopefully, we will find a publisher to put out our book and it will just come out with the regular weekly comics on Wednesdays. But until then it’s totally DIY for us. We are slowly figuring this whole thing out.

In other news, we have been approached to create an ongoing comic strip for Scoot! Magazine (readership of over 20,000) . We have a cool idea that ties into The Two Percent Solution so we’ll update this story as we know more.

Lastly, we need more letters (emails) for our “Letters Page”!!! And, don’t forget about our “Name the Letters Page Contest”…winner gets a bunch of free shit!

Oh, well, gotta get back to it.
